"Today, companies and organisations are confronted with the looming threat of the quantum computer, which will destroy our existing cybersecurity infrastructure. However, most information security professionals still lack an appropriate understanding of quantum technologies and on their impact on cybersecurity. This aim of this workshop is to train champions inside companies, who will be able to understand the quantum world and manage the transition to quantum-safe security.
The workshop includes an introductory session on the quantum world and quantum computing. This is followed by a session on quantum risk assessment. The various cryptographic tools required to counter the quantum threat are then presented. They comprise post-quantum cryptography, based on classical solutions, and quantum solutions, including quantum random number generators and quantum key distribution. The workshop concludes with a hands-on on quantum random number generators, which provides an opportunity for students to practice a real-world application of quantum technologies."
